What recent guests emphasize

Comfortable stays with family-friendly amenities in a peaceful Upper Village location

Guests appreciate the spacious, well-equipped suites and the quiet setting near key Whistler attractions. While the property offers numerous facilities for families and gamers, some note occasional confusion navigating the layout and experiences with timeshare sales pitches.

Guests often praise

  • Spacious, clean rooms with practical kitchenettes including dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker.
  • Family-friendly amenities such as heated outdoor pools, a hot tub, a game room with free-play arcade machines, and nightly movies.
  • Convenient Upper Village location, quiet yet within walking distance to Blackcomb Gondola and village shops.
  • Friendly and helpful staff providing attentive service, including thoughtful touches like poolside treats for kids.
  • Comfortable beds and well-appointed rooms featuring laundry facilities and ample living space.

Worth knowing

  • Some areas of the resort, including the lobby, show dated decor despite recent renovations in parts of the property.
  • Timeshare presentations can be aggressive and feel coercive to some guests, with staff openly conducting sales pitches at check-in.
  • The hotel layout can be confusing, which may require some time to navigate, especially when finding the pools or amenities.
  • Noise from the kids’ pool area can affect rooms facing that side, though many guests consider it manageable.
  • No airport shuttle or pet-friendly options are available; breakfast is paid separately.

Best for

  • Families looking for spacious suites with kitchens and kid-friendly activities on-site.
  • Visitors seeking a quieter, more relaxed stay close to Blackcomb Mountain and the Whistler village.
  • Guests who appreciate extras like an arcade, heated pools, and on-site hot tubs for a full vacation experience.
  • Travelers wanting practical accommodations with self-catering options in a convenient mountain location.
  • Those open to timeshare properties who are prepared for sales presentations but desire good value lodging.

3.5/5 Pros - Great location with reasonable price. Basically the best deal on the blackcomb side if you don’t want to pay the price of Four Season / Fairmont. - Room itself is decent. Warm temperature, comfortable bed, and it looks clean. Besides of what you typically see at a hotel like fridge (has a little freezer inside as well), microwave, and coffee maker. Nice perks: also comes with kitchen sink, dishes and dish washer. - When I called for room service, employees always arrive fast (within 10 mins). - Front desk tried to solve the issues I faced, by offering a room change (not upgrade) but I don’t think it would make a big difference, so I didn’t bother to experience the hassle of packaging and moving. Cons - The noise. You can hear your neighbors talking and their TV sound. - The building setup is extremely confusing. Front desk employee was not proactive enough to offer a map, until I have walked around back and forth multiple times. - Wifi is not stable. With all the cons I still think this visit doesn’t worth what I paid. Not only this Hilton, but also Whistler in general. With the same price, I would rather go to Tahoe lake or Colorado

We had a great weekend here. Out of the main town. This is on the Blackcomb side. Which is great for how quiet it is. Close to walk to everything. Rooms were big and not to bad. Lots of activities for the kids. Awesome pool and game room. Staff was helpful and polite. They even came to the pool to give kids freezies. It was a great weekend spent and we'll be back!

We had a great stay at this hotel in the Upper Village of Whistler. It was peaceful and still just a short walk to the main village and gondolas. The room was clean and cozy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Perfect for a family trip, we’d happily stay here again!

Warning about HGV sales representatives I’ve visited this property for decades under Intrawest, Embarc, and now HGV, and this was my first negative experience. At check-in, the purpose and length for an HGV/Embarc presentation was either misrepresented or miscommunicated. The staff member who did this has apologized. Rosie Blaser, who appeared to control pricing for HGV timeshares was aggressive and coercive. Her conduct was unprofessional and alarming. This review does not reflect the rooms or regular staff, who are excellent. Prospective buyers should know HGV points can be purchased on the secondary market for almost nothing. Current Embarc members should be especially cautious—converting can result in loss of Embarc booking priority.

This was our first time at the Hilton and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They are extremely well thought out rooms with little details like having laundry, salt spring coffee, a nice L shaped couch and well stocked kitchen. I loved the hotel amenities for the kids and the little details like nightly movies and the games at the arcade. Our only complaint was the configuration of the hotel is a little confusing when trying to navigate to the pool and parkade. You figure it out eventually but it’ll put you in a tail spin. Also the waterslide- is there anything better for vacation? And not just for the kids :)

We have been staying here since 2008 when the hotel is called Club Intrawest using my auntie’s embarc’s time share. We’ve always loved coming here. Renovations are a phase last year (2024) and this time, renovation is over. It seems like the bldg is better, cleaner and service is fantastic as usual. We cook our own breakfast and then we’ll go out in the village for lunch and dinner. Bldg is also away from the hustle and bustle of the village. It’s at the upper village across fairmont. We always loved it here and hopefully, this place continue to provide a great service and amenities to all guest forever. Very homey suites. They have Heated outdoor family pool and a hot tub.

This place surprised me, I'm not a timeshare person at all but had the chance to stay in someone else's time share. The rooms are fantastic and I love the layout of the 2 bedroom spaces. Even if you bring kids you can get get some privacy. The bedrooms don't share a wall which I like. The master bedrooms have a large attached bathroom with a jetted tub. The balcony is pretty big too. If you're facing the kids pool it's going to be noisy just fyi but idgaf about that, I can handle some noise. The amentities are great as well. There's a kids pool are with a slide but there's also an adult's area with hot tubs and a wet sauna. We visited the theatre and it's nice too, the seats are super comfy and they usually show 3 films a night, all mainstream Hollywood stuff. I like the games room. I'm a expert in this area, the section is p decent for a hotel amentity room. The machines are set to free play. The SNES classics are a nice touch. I will say there's a DDR machine in there and the left pad is in really good condition for such an old machine, but for some reason it's an Extreme cabinet with DDR 1 in it which is diabolical haha. Why not upgrade it back to Extreme? It's a much better game with way more songs (including the songs DDR 1 has) and a lot of quality of life features in my opinion. Some parts of the resort are super dated. I was nervous when I saw the dated lobby and then got an hard sales pitch to buy a timeshare in the lobby ngl (which, I'm never gonna do lol)... But the staff are nice they're just doing their jobs. They asked for me to stay for an even longer sales pitch for a $200 gift card but I know it'd be 90 mins minimum and I can't be bothered to deal with all that for the $200 bucks lol. Overall, if the time share owner I know wants to offer the space up to me again I would totally return. It was a really pleasant stay.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best stay in Whistler! The Grand Hilton Whistler has been beautifully renovated — everything feels brand new. The bed and linens were pure 5-star comfort, appliances top-notch, and even the Samsung drum washer was a big plus. Staff were super friendly, and for the price, nothing in Whistler compares. Already planning my next visit!
